Isabelle Fereshteh Sanatdar Stevens (she/they) is an Iranian & Irish-American writer, performer, and artist whose work tends to center love and loss, the creation of new worlds and realities, and bearing witness. They are also a creative producer, and the current Associate Artistic Director of New York Stage and Film.
Their creative work has been supported and recognized by The Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival (Recipient of the National Student Playwriting Award, the Darrell Ayers National Playwrighting Award, and the John Cauble National Playwrighting Award), New Rep Theatre Company (Pipeline Residency Recipient), the Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights’ Conference (Playwright Observer Residency, NPC semifinalist), Boston Playwrights' Theatre (THE FIG TREE, AND THE PHOENIX, AND THE DESIRE TO BE REBORN), Fresh Ink Theatre Company (HONEY GIRL), the Boston Theatre Marathon, Smith College, and Boston University (Whitney Young, Jr. Fellow for Social Justice). Their poems/plays have been published in several collections of Mister Baby, and in Playwrights Canada Press’s anthology “This is Beyond: A Time Capsule of Queer Experience.”
